Statutory Survey

Shipping is probably one of the most regulated industries in the world. For engaging in maritime trade ships require various certificates issued on behalf of their flag state confirming their compliance with various international conventions related to safety and environment protection that the vessel is required to comply with. As provided in these conventions, most governments have delegated such certification activities to classification societies such as ClassNU, in view of their technical expertise and international presence. ClassNU is duly authorized by the following countries to perform surveys, audits and plan appraisals as per various international conventions, codes and national regulations and to issue certificates.
